OSUN 2018: Time for Christians To Join Politics And Vote is Now – Kayode Oduoye

A Gubernatorial Aspirant in Osun 2018 governorship race Hon. (Dr.) Emmanuel Kayode Oduoye Superkay joined other Christian Stakeholders in the State to attend A Day Seminar for Christian Leaders and Stakeholders in Osun Politics organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria Osun State Chapter at the OS-CAN Secretariat Owode-Ede for Church Leaders, Christian Gubernatorial Aspirants, Christian Royal Fathers, Christian Party Leaders,  Christian Political Parties Executive Members and all other Christian Stakeholders in the State ahead of Osun 2018 Gubernatorial Race with the theme “The Duty of Christians in Democratic Governance” where the General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide Pastor E. A Adeboye delivered a keynote address.

Speaking with Newsmen, Hon.  Dr.  Kayode Oduoye registered his displeasure over the attitude and perspective of Christian Faithfuls  to partisan politics, he said the bad leaders are elected by those who fail to vote. He stressed that,  the moment Christians fail to participate in politics, we shall continue to have those who do not have the fear of God in the corridor of power. He then enjoined Christians both old and young to join politics particularly active participation in the coming gubernatorial election and vote for the right leader.

In his Remark at the event, Osun State CAN Chairman Rev’d Fr. Michael Okudua charged all Christian Leaders and Stakeholders that the time has come for Christians in the State to actively participate in partisan politics, the time has come for Christian brethren to aspire for elective political offices so as to effect the positive changes in politics and policies of government,  the time has come for Christian Brethren to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards(PVC) and stop praying on election day but to exercise their constitutional right to vote and be voted for.

In his Goodwill Message, Pastor E. A Adeboye charged Christian Leaders to take these messages to their various Churches that “the time of sit down and look has gone, this is the time for Christians to get involved in politics and government”.
