A governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has said he had dedicated himself and resources to revamp the state of voted as its next governor.
He therefore sought the support and cooperation of the leaders and members of the party in order to clinch its ticket ahead of the September 22 governorship election.
Ogunbiyi, a business mogul disclosed this on Tuesday at the party secretariat in Osogbo while addressing journalists at his campaign office in Osogbo.
According to him, his government will be open to all and sundry as it will have human face.
Ogunbiyi vowed to embark on empowerment programmes for the citizens of the state rather than stomach infrastructure.
He said, there is so much hunger in the state saying he is poised to make people empowered and meaningfully engaged.
Ogunbiyi said he had visited all other aspirants jostling for the ticket of the PDP saying that he told them to allow the interest and love of the party to prevail.
He promised to support anyone one who won the ticket stressing that all party leaders and members needed to cooperate before the party could dislodge the incumbent All Progressives Congress in the state.
Ogunbiyi said he is not a new face in the party as believed in some quarters arguing that he had been a member of the party since 2003.
“I have been associating with Osun PDP since 2003. I was asked to contest for governorship in 2003 but I declined because I felt I lacked the capacity, experience and power to contest.
“But now, I am more exposed, educated, and experienced to govern Osun. I am not a new member in PDP. Leadership is about service. I have therefore donated myself and everything to the service of the state. We need cooperation and support to defeat the power of incumbency in this state,” he said.
Meanwhile, the politician has offered schorlaship to the only son of the late staff of the party, Mrs. Iyabode Olusola Dada.
