As today marked the second year remembrance of the shocking and untimely death of Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, a leading aspirant to the senate in Osun West Senatorial District during the last general election,Omooba Dotun Babayemi has described the late political icon as a no cynic who related to people from all walks of life during his life time.
In a press release issued in Osogbo on Tuesday, Omooba Babayemi noted that the legacies left behind by the man fondly called Serubawon in the political scene would be difficult to forget especially his belief that public service is noble and necessary and the fact that one can serve with integrity and hold true to the important values of life.
He added that Adeleke’s indelible footprints on the sand of time would never be washed away in the area of giving back to the community in which he lived and beyond.
“His humanitarian services to people of his home town, Ede where he held the chieftaincy title of Asiwaju, and to anyone that crossed his part would forever be remembered,” he said.
According to Babayemi,Senator Adeleke who was his personal friend during his life time, was a true and loyal friend who honoured and nurtured friendship.
Among the other words which come to mind to describe his character, he added, was his uncompromising integrity and honesty which have proven to be among the most important guides and inspiration for many politicians.
“Duty, decency, reliability, honour, dignity, respect, these are all qualities that late Adeleke not only held in high esteem, but practised every day during his short but memorable sojourn on earth,” Babayemi stated.
Omooba Babayemi prayed that God will continue to grant Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss and wisdom to continue in Alhaji Isiaka’s footsteps.
