Osun Assembly Member-Elect Charges Security Operatives To Secure Release of Kidnapped Traditional Chief

A member-elect of Osun State House of Assembly for Obokun State Constituency, Adewumi Adeyemi has bemoaned rise in the cases of kidnappings in the state and Nigeria at large.

Adeyemi, while reacting to the abduction of a traditional chief from his constituency, Chief Amusat Dunsin, asked security agencies to ensure the victim is freed by his abductors unhurt.

Chief Dunsin was kidnapped along Ilare/Esa-Odo road on Monday evening.

In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, Adeyemi said “It is unfortunate to note that kidnapping has now gone beyond  endemic but epidemic in our nation Nigeria.

“The kidnap of Chief Amusat Dunsin was after two FRSC officials were kidnapped along Akure/Ilesa express road some days ago, while some people were also kidnapped along the Idominasi axis of Ilesa road some weeks ago.

“Chief Amusat Dunsin, like every other member of the community does not deserve to be kidnapped.

“While I call on security agents to act swiftly to secure the release of Chief Amusat Dunsin, let community members remain calm and provide the security agents with all useful information. We shall overcome.”
