Kimpact Development Initiative(KDI) , a Non-governmental organisation has urged Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun to incorporate youths into his administration for development and growth.
Mr Bukola Idowu, KDI Chief Executive Officer and Coordinating Director of Osun youth agenda campaign made the remarks at a news conference in Osogbo on Thursday.
Idowu urged Gov. Oyetola to take the advantage of the youth population in the state , which according to him is about 49.8 per cent to develop the economy capacity of the state.
He noted that osun would continue to experience a glaring mismatch between the aspiration of its youth and the opportunity available to them if nothing was done to explore their potentials.
Idowu said there is need for the establishment of Osun Youth Development Commission with a clear strategic development plan as its mandate.
He said the mandate of the suggested Youth commission would be to address the priority developmental needs of Osun youth in the area of quality education, promoting agriculture, improving Healthcare delivery , among others.
He said government could improve on its achievements by seeing the youth as a major stakeholder in the development of the state through better budgetary allocation.
Idowu also called also called on the Osun state House of Assembly to look into the key issue regarding osun youth agenda and provide necessary legislative support towards the actualization of their set objectives.
